Growth Hub Christmas Event
To wrap up 2024 in style, we hosted our biggest Growth Hub event yet – and what an event it was! Not only did we have three incredible speakers, but we also brought in DJs from the amazing Mixtons team (yes, the canned cocktail legends). The turnout was phenomenal, with over half the attendees being familiar faces from previous Growth Hub events.
Our speaker lineup included Barney Mauleverer, founder of FUEL10K; Tom Mucklow, co-founder of Superco; and Aoife Teague, Accounts and Partnerships Lead at Octane AI. While we always make sure to feature a founder speaker, this time we also wanted to spotlight our partners and introduce tools and platforms that can truly help businesses with their growth plans.
The evening kicked off with welcome drinks and nibbles before our first speaker took the stage.
Barney Mauleverer, Founder of FUEL10K
Barney shared his incredible entrepreneurial journey. A serial entrepreneur with a passion for innovation, Barney started as employee #007 at Innocent Drinks, where he gained invaluable experience before launching Fresh Marketing in 2006, a trailblazing export distribution collective for UK challenger brands.
In 2012, he co-founded FUEL10K, the breakfast brand we all know and love, which is now stocked by Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Amazon, and even international markets. Just last year, FUEL10K surpassed £20 million in sales and was acquired by Premier Foods.
Barney’s achievements are nothing short of inspiring: recognised as Entrepreneur of the Year by The Grocer, named an Export Champion by the DBT, and a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. His latest venture, the Future of Food Competition, continues to push the boundaries of innovation.
Tom Mucklow, Co-founder of Superco
Next up was Tom, who shared insights into his agency, Superco. Specialising in high-impact growth and retention strategies, Superco is a global Shopify Plus agency helping e-commerce brands scale through transformative design, expert integration, and creative problem-solving.
They’ve worked with incredible brands like Kopparberg, Minor Figures, Represent, and Formulae Prescott. Tom’s session was packed with actionable insights, leaving attendees excited about their next steps in e-commerce growth.
Aoife Teague, Accounts & Partnerships Lead at Octane AI
Our final speaker, Aoife, introduced attendees to the power of personalised quizzes for boosting conversion rates. Octane AI enables brands to create tailored quiz experiences that help customers find the best products for their needs.
This approach not only increases sales but also grows email and SMS subscribers, boosts average order value (AOV), and strengthens customer relationships. Octane AI works with brands like Jones Road and Polysleep, making it a must-have tool for scaling D2C businesses.
The Perfect Ending
After Aoife’s presentation, the evening transitioned into networking, drinks, and dancing as Mixtons’ team lit up the night with their DJ set. It was a night to remember, filled with energy, inspiration, and connection.
